The World War alarm is being rung

IS the world on the brink of World War III?

Starting with the Western-Russian conflict over Ukraine, through the Middle East crises, to the heated waters of the China Sea and provocations of North Korea, the scene is obscure amid the fever of interests’ protection which makes the United States of America and Russia shiver. In addition, there is continuous aggravation in terms of political stances, and military, security and economic reactions.

In the past seven decades, the major countries have been involved in a “tug of war” using precise ropes of role on the edge of the Cold War pit. Since that time until the 1962 Bay of Pigs invasion, the nuclear war was just few minutes away from breaking out. Despite all that, the opportunity for American-Russian understanding arose at the last minute, which calibrated the roles once again.

At that time, the world had not fully recovered from the burns it sustained during the World War II when millions of souls became victims of political recklessness.

The transpiring events in the Far East and Middle East regions represent a malicious race for the areas of influence between the United States of America, through its hesitant politics and withdrawal that were cemented by the previous Obama Administration, and Russia, which continues to hold on to its last allies in the region especially after it lost Iraq and Libya.

This had put the world in one hand of the devil while the other hand is tiredly holding onto a very thin rope to prevent it from falling into the pit.

Indeed, the grey clouds are covering the skies over the China Sea and Crimea Peninsula, but the rain is falling in Syria and Iraq where Russia has been protecting its ally Syria while the United States of America is pushing its forces to Syria in order to preserve what it gained after the 2003 Iraq occupation.

All this is happening at a time when both countries are pulling the rope, the ends of which are in North Korea and Ukraine, without any regard for the nuclear furnace experiences in the

two Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the destruction incurred by Germany and Europe, and the massacre at Pearl Harbor.

Today, it seems we are in the era of live testing of new weapons, as claimed by the Russian President Vladimir Putin at the start of his intervention in Syria. It is the same thing that several Western military experts have been saying in terms of finding a new weapon-testing field, starting with Crimea and definitely not ending in Iraq or Syria. This is another reckless reason why some regional nations are paying the price with their blood.

Undoubtedly, the hesitation of the Obama administration throughout the past eight years and the fact that it handed over Iraq and Syria to Iran and its militias in the form of a platter of bones of Iraqis and Syrians complicated the situation further.

Iran considers this as a historic opportunity for it to cement its advances in the four Arab capitals. Its leaders are taking pride in occupying these cities, which is why Tehran is fueling political conflict with sectarianism, a portion of which involves a mix of the American-Russian interests. This renders the “DAESH bogey” to be a source of global terrorism threat, enabling it to interfere and impose further influence in those capitals.

The mosaic-like scene of fire, terrorism and excessive use of chemical weapons, the poison of which the world had tasted during World War I when its fire was ignited by the assassination of the Crown Prince of Austria, which was involved in extensive conflicts with major European countries at that time, is today repeating itself in the Arab world.

In 1914, the United States of America took a neutral stance because its interests were not under any threat. It did not join World War II until the flames reached its most important port.

Today, the American and Russian interests in the Middle East are surrounded by flames. The devils of those interests are no longer able to resist falling into the abyss, while the entire region is shaking.

Are we currently in the last quarter of time before the warning bells of World War III are rung? Are these interests worth starting a war of this degree? Will weapons of mass destruction be used, which undoubtedly will devour everyone and everything such that no one after that will talk about the interests?
