KUWAIT CITY, April 12: Deputy Director General of Human Resources at Public Authority for Manpower Eng Khloud Al-Shihab announced the launch of advanced written examinations for teachers of students with special needs in line with the new method adopted by the authority for implementing the project of assessing the professional skills of expatriate workers.

In a press conference organized on the sidelines of an inspection of examination committees on Wednesday, Eng Al-Shihab said the first batch included 43 teachers and social workers.

She stressed the keenness of Public Authority for Manpower for selecting expatriates who are well-qualified before they join the labor market of Kuwait, especially for teaching students with special needs, as this category holds a dear place in the hearts of everyone in Kuwait and the state provides special support to them.

Eng Al-Shihab affirmed that the authority is working on creating a suitable atmosphere when monitoring and organizing the examination committees so that those who take the examinations will do so comfortably without facing any obstacles.

She stressed the importance of verifying the level of skills of teachers who undergo the examinations so that they will be up to the task of handling students with the special needs as required.

Eng Al-Shihab said the planning sector is working on this mechanism at two fronts first for local manpower and second for expatriate workers so that the labor market has skilled and qualified workforce.

She indicated about the coordination with ministries of labor in countries that export workers concerning arrangements and procedures for conducting examinations before work permits are issued for the required professionals.
