‘Oil’ demands transfer of road allowance of workers to KPC
KU employees’ grants delayed
KUWAIT CITY, April 16: Ministry of Oil has demanded the transfer of the road allowance for the employees working in the Khafji joint operation zone to Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a ministerial official.
He said the ministry pays KD 4 million annually for road allowances based on the agreement signed in 1990 to encourage Kuwaitis to work in Al-Khafji area.
The official revealed that the allowance ranges between KD 150 and KD 450 based on the marital status which differs from one employee to another.
Meanwhile, most of authorities and institutions in the country have been regularly disbursing excellent performance bonuses to their employees, the employees of Kuwait University have not received excellent performance remunerations, reports Al-Anba daily.
A number of these employees decried and condemned this delay, which is now happening for the second consecutive year without holding those behind it accountable.
The matter has caused some inconveniences for some who depended heavily on the remunerations especially to cover their travel expenses.
A Kuwaiti citizen sustained injuries including a broken nose when he was attacked by his brother in their family home in Waha area.
According to the police report, the victim went to Jahra Police Station and presented a medical report which indicated that he sustained a broken nose and other injuries when he was attacked mercilessly by his brother.
A case was registered and referred to the Public Prosecution. Investigations in this regard have been launched.
