Encroachments removed
KUWAIT CITY, April 16: Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipality accomplished a great deal in March 2017. Public Relations Department at Kuwait Municipality disclosed the sector successfully lifted 3,825 loads of waste and collected KD 45,123 in fees, removed 718 advertisements and placed 404 stickers on abandoned cars during the period, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Director of Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipality Engineer Samia Al-Anzi added inspectors from the Department of Audit and Follow up removed 228 advertisements, checked 346 shops, and issued 86 citations for various violations.
She affirmed the sector also destroyed 430 kgs of spoilt food, referred 609 samples to the central laboratories for testing, issued 1,223 certificates plus 55 requests for product analysis, and closed one shop. They also issued 58 warnings to shops and health-related violations against 12 shops and 3 evacuation orders through which the sector generated revenue of KD 12,780 during the period.
Al-Anzi stated the Mubarak Al-Kabeer emergency team removed 490 advertisements, issued 65 warnings against encroachments on State property, confiscated and destroyed 800 kgs of spoilt food, made 13 safety recommendations, and issued 44 violations. She said the Department of Municipal Service Licenses generated KD 19,769 through issuance of 559 licenses in advertisements and health. She added the Directorate of Hygiene and Road Occupancy lifted 27 abandoned cars, pasted 394 stickers and released 8 impounded cars. She added the sector removed 1,395 loads of organic waste, 1,173 loads of scrap and trees, in addition to 1,267 loads of constructive waste and debris.
She added the Department of Safety completed a total of 333 transactions through the issuance of new licenses; housing guarantees and safety certificates.
Meanwhile, emergency team at Jahra Municipality removed encroachments on State property in Abdali area, including 8 structures serving as laborer accommodation, and served 20 warnings to shops to rectify violations, and removed 4 loads of waste.
Farwaniya Municipality also removed 36 camps; 20 in Abdullah Mubarak and 16 beside Kuwait University fence.
Hawally Municipality closed two restaurants and a cafe joint and issued 7 violations related to expired health certificate, lack of health licenses, and poor sanitation. The inspectors also destroyed 71 kgs of expired foodstuffs and removed 55 advertisements.
