‘Kuwait eager to promote economic and trade cooperation with Bahrain’
Al-Roudhan and Al-Zayani discuss SMEs in Gulf
MANAMA, April 25, (KUNA): Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry and Acting Minister of State for Youth Affairs Khaled Al-Roudhan and Bahraini Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Rashed AlZayani met in Manama on ways of promoting bilateral trade and industrial cooperation.
Both ministers also discussed how the two Gulf nations could make use of each other’s experience in the promotion of small and mediumsized enterprises.
During the meeting, Al-Zayani voiced Bahrain’s appreciation of Kuwait’s major contributions to key development and investment projects in the Kingdom.
He underlined the significance of the meeting as aiming at sharing experience in the promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises.
He added that he had discussed with the Kuwaiti minister several issues of mutual interest, primarily the facilitation of corporate registration and improvement of business environment.
On his part, Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry and Acting Minister of State for Youth Affairs Khaled Al-Roudhan stressed Kuwait’s eagerness to promote its economic partnerships with the Kingdom of Bahrain and to share views and experience.
He pointed to Kuwaiti economic developments that have contributed to the promotion of services and procedures, business facilitation and logistic service improvement.
Al-Roudan stressed the importance of cooperation between Kuwait and Bahrain in fields connected with youth development.
Meanwhile, Speaker of the Bahraini Council of Representatives Ahmad Al-Mulla said on Tuesday it is necessary to exert concerted Asian efforts to attain economic growth and overcome relevant challenges.
In a keynote speech during a meeting of the Standing Committee on Economic and. Sustainable Development Affairs, Al-Mulla said cooperation and integration among Asian countries would undoubtedly stimulate Asian economies, improve welfare levels and ensure peace and stability.
He said today’s meeting focuses on an array of issues and subjects that are of paramount significance to the Asian continent amid the existing exceptional economic challenges worldwide.
“As Asian parliamentarians, it’s our duty to urge our countries and governments to support and promote joint cooperation,” the Bahraini parliament speaker added.
