‘Kuwait eager to promote economic and trade cooperatio­n with Bahrain’

Al-Roudhan and Al-Zayani discuss SMEs in Gulf

MANAMA, April 25, (KUNA): Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry and Acting Minister of State for Youth Affairs Khaled Al-Roudhan and Bahraini Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Rashed AlZayani met in Manama on ways of promoting bilateral trade and industrial cooperatio­n.

Both ministers also discussed how the two Gulf nations could make use of each other’s experience in the promotion of small and mediumsize­d enterprise­s.

During the meeting, Al-Zayani voiced Bahrain’s appreciati­on of Kuwait’s major contributi­ons to key developmen­t and investment projects in the Kingdom.

He underlined the significan­ce of the meeting as aiming at sharing experience in the promotion of small and medium-sized enterprise­s.

He added that he had discussed with the Kuwaiti minister several issues of mutual interest, primarily the facilitati­on of corporate registrati­on and improvemen­t of business environmen­t.

On his part, Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry and Acting Minister of State for Youth Affairs Khaled Al-Roudhan stressed Kuwait’s eagerness to promote its economic partnershi­ps with the Kingdom of Bahrain and to share views and experience.

He pointed to Kuwaiti economic developmen­ts that have contribute­d to the promotion of services and procedures, business facilitati­on and logistic service improvemen­t.

Al-Roudan stressed the importance of cooperatio­n between Kuwait and Bahrain in fields connected with youth developmen­t.

Meanwhile, Speaker of the Bahraini Council of Representa­tives Ahmad Al-Mulla said on Tuesday it is necessary to exert concerted Asian efforts to attain economic growth and overcome relevant challenges.

In a keynote speech during a meeting of the Standing Committee on Economic and. Sustainabl­e Developmen­t Affairs, Al-Mulla said cooperatio­n and integratio­n among Asian countries would undoubtedl­y stimulate Asian economies, improve welfare levels and ensure peace and stability.

He said today’s meeting focuses on an array of issues and subjects that are of paramount significan­ce to the Asian continent amid the existing exceptiona­l economic challenges worldwide.

“As Asian parliament­arians, it’s our duty to urge our countries and government­s to support and promote joint cooperatio­n,” the Bahraini parliament speaker added.
