KUWAIT CITY, April 25: April 20 marked an important milestone in the educational life of many Kuwait English School students. At Maha Ballroom, in The Regency Hotel, graduating students, parents, teachers, members of senior management and honoured guests were delighted to witness this joyous occasion.
The evening began with a procession of students entering the hall accompanied by the band led by Steven Tarry. Mohammed Jassim Al Saddah, School Chairman, began by addressing the audience and thanking all of the high school staff and heads. He ended by wishing the students all of the best in their future. As with tradition, the Head Girl and Head Boy, Shreeya Thussu and Ryan Buist, were invited to speak. Before doing so, Mrs Janet Carew, High School Principal, introduced Shreeya and Ryan by stating that they had been “exceptional role models” and wished them luck with their next adventure, studying Mathematics and Economics in UCLA in the US and Engineering in Auckland University, New Zealand. Both spoke of their experiences at Kuwait English School and how they had developed the skills and knowledge needed for life during their time at the school. Shreya stated that “Kuwait English School has shaped us into the individuals we are today” and thanked the teaching staff for “guiding us, pushing our boundaries and recognising a potential that we might not have seen in ourselves”.
