EQUATE joins KidZania Kids for Greener World
Firm collaborates on initiative for 3rd yr

KUWAIT CITY, April 25: EQUATE Petrochemical Company, a global producer of petrochemicals, launched collaboration with KidZania on the Kids for a Greener World initiative for the 3rd consecutive year to promote preserving the environment.
EQUATE’s establishment within the KidZania Facility marks the first petrochemical establishment in KidZania worldwide. The Kids for a Greener World initiative, which runs in collaboration with EQUATE, is themed this year around the “Underwater World” while integrating the importance of plastic and its benefits to our daily lives. EQUATE focuses on informing and educating children about plastic, as well as providing information on efficient waste management for plastics and others to preserve different ecosystems including the aquatic life. This initiative encourages children’s learning by combining fun activities with education in a special setting designed for them.
EQUATE’S Senior Executive of Corporate Communications and Government Affairs Dr Abeer Sulaiman Al-Omar, commented on this occasion: “As a leading global industrial organization, we at EQUATE, seek to implement our sustainability objectives in partnership with reputable partners around the world. Our collaboration with KidZania has the objective of reaching a large number of children and others to educate them about the significant role of sustainability preserving our environment within a framework of innovative interaction. This initiative with KidZania is part of a holistic approach applied by EQUATE to protect and maintain the environment that constitutes a major cornerstone in our lives as a whole. This is in alignment with EQUATE’ Sustainability Strategy focusing on the economy, society and environment.”
On his part, the Vice-President of Leisure and Entertainment at M.H. Alshaya Co Fernando Medroa said: “We are pleased to join hands, once again, with EQUATE in launching our annual Kids for a Greener World Initiative. Having EQUATE on board for this initiative will definitely bring in the invaluable expertise their team has to better educate children in KidZania about sustainability and the great ‘Underwater World’.”
The initiative, which commenced in early April until May 27, will see EQUATE and KidZania’s collaboration on an underwater themed program, giving children the opportunity to discover the exciting aspects of the aquatic ecosystems through various activities. The initiative also offers a collection of the most practical and achievable ideas to allow children to learn about the world of water, educate them about the importance of safe and clean potable water, as well as give them the opportunity to become certified Environmental Scientists.
