KUWAIT CITY, April 25: Kuwait International Bank (KIB) recently sponsored Business Kid, an entrepreneurship program for children organized by Safira CSR Company in partnership with Newtonology. The first of its kind in Kuwait, the project is aimed at nurturing local talents from an early age, through a series of training programs designed to help them channel their entrepreneurial energies into starting their own “micro businesses”.

The project targets young children aged 6 to 14 years, and seeks to foster basic business and professional skills, with levels that vary in accordance to each child’s age. The project includes a training program for children conducted by specialists in the fields of business administration, commercial sciences and entrepreneurship. During which, children undergo empowering real-world experiences framed in a simple manner that is easy for them to understand. The project also provides practical experiences with the participation of parents.

Within this context, Manager of the Corporate Communications Unit at KIB, Nawaf Najia, said: “As evidenced by our sponsorship of this project, we are always keen to support educational programs that enrich a child’s business and entrepreneurial skills. We believe that these skills are integral to nurturing their potential towards building a successful future. By awakening their entrepreneurial spirit, we hope to see a sense of commitment to professionalism that drives the country’s young generation to establish their own businesses in the future.”

Najia concluded by stating that this sponsorship comes as part of KIB’s strategy to support initiatives and activities which engage children in entrepreneurship education, inspiring them to lead confidently as architects of their own future. In line with the Bank’s social responsibility program, KIB focuses heavily on children in order to help them to achieve their highest potential, given that they are an essential foundation to build upon the future of the country.
