Exceptional pension & bonus for retired army personnel approved
Parliament to address price rise hike
KUWAIT CITY, May 23: The National Assembly, in its regular session Tuesday, approved the draft law on granting exceptional pension and bonus to retired military personnel, non-commissioned officers and civilians in its first and second deliberations.
According to the Financial and Economic Committee’s report, the beneficiaries include 2,681 retired military personnel in the ministries of Defense and Interior and the National Guard from April 28, 2008 to Dec 31, 2009. Total cost of the pension is estimated at KD8,764,000 and bonus is KD65 million.
The Assembly also endorsed the requests of MP Riyadh Al-Adsani for the government to address the price hike issue and MP Khalaf Dumaither Al-Enezi for the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee to quickly look into proposals that are still in its agenda like regulation of leadership posts, governance rules, equal opportunities and civil service.
Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim adjourned the regular session until Wednesday and then the Assembly went on to discuss reports of the Budgets and Final Accounts Committee on final accounts for fiscal 2015/2016 and budgets for fiscal 2017/2018 of the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR), Public Authority for Social Security (PASS), Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) and Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI).
The expenses of PAAAFR for fiscal 2015-2016 reached KD 104,135,730 while total income is KD 6,784,868. Its expenditure for 2017/2018 financial year is KD 98,185,000 and revenue is KD 7,143,000.
For PASS, the expenditures for 2015/2016 reached KD 2,493,767,733 and total income is KD 3,148,786,380. Its expenditure for 2017/2018 is KD 2,975,793,000 and revenue is KD 4,562,161,000.
For PAM, the expenditures for 2015/2016 reached KD 34,470,581 and total income is KD 10,841,966. Its expenditure for 2017/2018 is KD 45,665,000 and revenue is KD 32,505,000. For PACI, the expenditures for 2015/2016 reached KD 33,314,049 and total income is KD 8,914,087. Its expenditure for 2017/2018 is KD 47,452,000 and revenue is KD 14,723,000.
