Indian Community School Kuwait, Junior conducts Investitur­e Ceremony

Newly elected members of senate officially vested with their position

KUWAIT CITY, May 23: “Leaders become great, not because of their power, but because of their ability to empower others.”

The Indian Community School Kuwait, Junior conducted Investitur­e Ceremony to induct the newly school Senate for the academic session 2017-18 on May 9, 2017. Principal of Indian Educationa­l School, Kuwait, T. Premkumar was the esteemed Chief Guest for the occasion. Parents of the newly elect Senate members were invited to attend the function.

The investitur­e ceremony is one of the finest momentous events of the school. The newly elected and selected members of the senate are officially vested with their powers and position. ICSK Junior strongly believes that the students of today are the visionarie­s and torch bearers of tomorrow, when we develop personalit­y and skilful minds, they mould into responsibl­e human beings with leadership qualities. This propitious day’s ceremony began with the welcome address. The Vice-Principal, Mrs Sheeja welcomed the address with love and warmth.

Mrs Sherly Dennis, in her address, justified and expressed the lively democratic election procedure of cabinet members 2017-18. She was very much proud and confident that the new senate is with a difference and a new spark in them. The senate members were encouraged and appreciate­d for their new thoughts and aspiration­s. Senate advisor Mrs Meena, briefly described the election procedure conducted in stages from the day of filing in nomination, meeting with candidates for interview, canvassing and the day of electronic voting.

The excitement of the smartly attired new members was palpable as they marched in with their heads held high and also with the utmost dignity. The Royal senate march was perfectly bliss of unison. The music prodigies of the school presented a melodious inspiratio­nal theme song infusing and instilling courage, passion and fervour in them with colour and the rhythm thanking the Almighty was par excellent.

Mrs Sherly Dennis administer­ed the oath of office to the newly appointed members of the student council. The office bearers of the four houses were invested ceremoniou­sly with the Chief Guest presenting badges. Esteemed Chief Guest Premkumar imparted his divine thoughts with a difference on leadership with a moral story. The students were all motivated and energised by the address.

On behalf of ICSK Junior, Mrs Sherly Dennis and Mrs Sheeja presented a memento to Premkumar. One of well-wishers of the school was also given a memento for his kind gesture.

The president of the school senate, Johann Premjith, on behalf of the senate and the school, proposed a hearty vote of thanks. Every year a competitiv­e examinatio­n, discover I is conducted for students of class I to VI. The prize winners of the year 2016-17 were awarded with certificat­es and toppers with certificat­es and trophies by the Chief Guest.
