MoE comes out with new list of ‘approved’ UK universities
Students urged to visit website of ministry to view list
KUWAIT CITY, May 25: Ministry of Higher Education announced the issuance of a decision to approve some recommended British universities for the academic year 2017/2018 based on the approval of Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohammad Al-Fares, reports AlAnba daily.
In a press release, the ministry stated that the National Bureau for Academic Accreditation and Education Quality Assurance prepared the new list as part of its annual scholarship plan for the year 2017/2018 and in line with the law No. 108/2017 concerning identifying educational bodies for bachelors program and other degree programs in the United Kingdom.
It urged interested students to visit the website of the ministry as well as that of National Bureau for Academic Accreditation and Education Quality Assurance (www.nbaq. edu.kw) to view the list of approved universities.

Meanwhile, Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced the signing of an agreement with Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor for supervising children from Social Welfare Homes who are completing their education overseas.
Meanwhile, despite the assurance that educational sector sources gave to the daily last week about the intention of the Education Ministry to exclude some jobs from the decision to refer employees who completed 34 years in service for retirement, Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Muhammad Al-Fares stressed there is no exception and all those who completed 34 years in service will be referred for retirement by July 2017.
Al-Fares disclosed the retirement referral process will be done by the Office of the Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative Sector according to legal procedures.
He made the statement at the graduation ceremony for the ninth batch in the Leadership Development Academy at Kuwait Teachers Society. The ceremony was under the patronage of Al-Fares with Chairman of Kuwait Teachers Society Mutai’a Al-Ajmi and a number of senior ministry officials in attendance. The minister congratulated the graduates and praised the efforts exerted by the academy in developing educational abilities.
