KUWAIT CITY, May 25: Chairman of Internal Voluntary Charity Sector at the Revival of Islamic Heritage Society Nabil Al-Yasin disclosed that charitable projects executed in the country before and during Ramadan by the society are highly appreciated.

In a press statement, Al-Yasin said the acceptance affirms uniqueness of Kuwait and her citizens and their love for charity work. He noted the initiative is attributed to the wise leadership that sets good example for citizens, although Kuwaitis are naturally generous.

He explained that everybody in Kuwait struggles to embark on charity projects during the holy month of Ramadan. He mentioned an aspect of the charitable projects as Iftar generally organized for those who observe the fast, which the Revival of Islamic Heritage Society executes at some mosques, especially in areas dominated by expatriate workers in the country at a cost of KD 0.750-KD1 per head.

He noted the society has since opened the door for donation to organize Iftar outside the country, and hopes a large number of people will show interest in the project estimated at KD 0.5 per meal due to increasing needs of Muslims in Africa, Indian continent, South East Asia, Arab world, Europe and Central Asia. He indicated interested individuals can pay for one month feeding of worshippers at once, and there are various committees in charge of different continents.

He reiterated over one million people across the globe are feeding on charity from Kuwait throughout the month of Ramadan and that Iftar program for Syrians started earlier since it may be difficult to reach the target beneficiaries in the holy month, noting a meal costs KD 1 for Syria.
