‘Cheques issue aims at soiling army officers reputation’
KUWAIT CITY, May 28: Chief of Staff of Kuwait Armed Forces Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Khader has lodged a complaint with the Attorney General against parties that are accusing him of receiving cheques of large amounts in return for exploitation of his office, reports Aljarida daily quoting informed sources.
They indicated that the move follows a plot aimed at undermining the military establishment and discrediting its leaders, stressing that this matter constitutes a scandal that raises question marks about the motives.

Lieutenant General Al-Khader reported in his complaint about a number of false cheques released in his name as well as in the names of several military leaders in the army with the aim of discrediting their reputations.
They affirmed that the top military brass was disappointed when they became aware of this conspiracy.
Lieutenant General Al-Khader lodged this complaint after receiving higher orders in order to uncover the circumstances of the case, especially after the concerned bank had reviewed the alleged cheques and discovered they were fake and have no connection whatsoever to the accounts in the bank.
They explained that one such cheque was worth KD 1.4 million issued by a businessman in the name of Al-Khader. However, the man denied knowledge of these checks, after being asked about the validity of the cheque. He affirmed that it was forged and stressed that he has no idea about it.
The sources said that these cheques have left a great controversy among some military leaders, as they are seeking to identify the suspicious objectives of the parties behind this plot.
