IBPC celebrates its 14th anniversary
Prominent Indian and Kuwaiti business leaders honored at the event
KUWAIT CITY, May 28: The Indian Business And Professional Council, Kuwait celebrated its fourteenth anniversary on May 20 at a glittering function at the Crowne Plaza. The celebrations were held at Al Barraka Ball Room, Crowne Plaza Hotel, Kuwait, on May 21st.
Well known marketing guru, author and columnist Suhel Seth was the chief guest. Indian Ambassador to Kuwait HE Sunil Jain was the guest of honour.
The occasion was graced by prominent Kuwaitis and Indians. The IBPC is a non-profit voluntary association whose membership consists of leading members of the Indian business community, senior corporate executives and professionals from the private sector and also senior managers of Indian public sector undertakings in Kuwait. Besides promoting business ties between India and Kuwait, IBPC also promotes cultural relations between the two countries. The highlight of the evening was the IBPC awards that honoured outstanding Indian and Kuwaiti business and thought leaders who have made remarkable contributions to strengthening business and cultural ties between the two countries.
Over the years, the IBPC awards have set standards and encouraged excellence in the work area and community service. Prominent Kuwaiti nationals were honoured for their achievements during the event. Ebrahim Alkazi, who is one of the most influential Indian theatre directors and drama teacher, Dr Hussain Mohammad Merza Dashti, who completed his MBBS from University of Mumbai, Safi Al Mutawa Senior Partner of KPMG Kuwait, Muhammad Mustafa Karam, who is the sole distributor of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Mahmoud Bastaki — a professional cricketer and retired banking professionals were honoured for their outstanding contributions in Indo-Kuwait relationship.
IBPC also honoured various Indian for their outstanding achievements in Kuwait. Abdul Kader, who achieved ‘weaving’ success with absolute hard work, honesty and dedication, Dr Leons Joseph, prominent Indian businessman Dharam Vir Malhotra, Pinak Maitra — the board member of Burgan Bank, OSN and PKC Advisory, Ms Chaitali B Roy, Special Correspondent Arab Times and Author of ‘Women of Kuwait: Turning Tides’ for her outstanding achievement in playing a meaningful role in Kuwaiti society and (Late) Manoj Kabra were also honoured during the event. Earlier IBPC Hon Secretary Anant Kapadia welcomed the audience, and IBPC Vice Chairman Mr Shivvy Bhasin introduced the chief guest.
