BMW, RAR notch convincing wins

KUWAIT CITY, May 28: On the second day of the 38th Late Abdullah Meshari Al-Rawdhan Ramadan Futsal Tournament, the BMW team defeated Kazem team with a score of 2-0, the RAR team defeated the team of Teresh Group for Perfumes with 4-1 goals, and the Holiday Inn team beat Al-Zamel Rehab Center team with 3-1 goals.

Former Kuwaiti national footballer Osama Hussein praised the efforts exerted by the organizing committee of the tournament, commending the rate of continuous improvemen­t witnessed annually for ensuring a successful tournament.

He said the tournament has a distinguis­hed place in every year’s Ramadan, providing increased entertainm­ent with every new edition, especially with the participat­ion of local and internatio­nal superstars amid well-organized atmosphere.

Hussein affirmed that bringing internatio­nal superstars in every edition of the tournament is considered as a highlight, as fans are eager to watch their superstars play at close range.

He stressed that the concept of bringing superstars also gives an opportunit­y for the younger generation to play with them, and inspires them to achieve more in the future.

Hussein expressed his delight over getting a chance to participat­e in the tournament studio beside Kuwaiti football superstars.

He wished the organizing committee further developmen­t and success, as well as ability to attain regional and Arab attention in a manner that will improve the sport of Futsal.

Meanwhile, the tournament witnessed a strong start of the junior category, after the Egyptian Football Academy team defeated Yarmouk Club team with a score of 2-1 through penalty shootouts after the game ended without any goals.

In the second match, Al-Shabab Club team defeated Makarem team by two goals. In the final match, AlDhahabi team managed to beat the champions Kazema team with three goals to one.

On the third day of the tournament, three matches in both senior and junior categories will be held.

In the senior category, Al-Jahra team will meet Hidd Club team, the team of Diwaniya Manahi AlOsaimi will face Gulf Cables team, and the team of Kuwait Credit Bank will face Mondiale Hesham Fuladh team.

In the junior category, Atom Sporting (B) team will face Tamouh team, Ahmadi team will face AlShabab (B) team, and Lingez Academy team will face the late Khalaf Al-Shanfa team.
