KUWAIT CITY, June 8: Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Economic Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh affirmed that the launch of the e-Portal service, which is aimed at serving the Public Authority for Manpower’s clients among the business owners and private companies, is not intended for the benefit of anyone. She insisted that such reports are completely untrue and lack credibility, reports Aljarida daily.

In her statement to the daily, Al-Sabeeh said, “The company that is executing the gateway project is the National Technology Enterprises Company (NTEC). It is a government company and fullyowned subsidiary of the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA). This fact is completely contrary to what is being said by people who are attempting to portray a skewed image of this issue”.

Charges

The minister explained that the charges for the e-Portal transactions are less compared to the other GCC countries. It can be paid once annually based on the number of registered labor force in the file of the company or the establishment. The charges range between KD 250 and KD 350.

Meanwhile, Acting Director of Public Authority for Manpower Ahmad Al-Mousa said, “There are about 40 types of services being rendered by the e-Portal.

These services are not obligatory for the employers or the private companies. They are available for those who want only as per the determined charges.

Al-Mousa indicated that those who do not want to pay the charges through the e-portal can visit the labor departments in all governorates to complete all their transactions.

Charges

He revealed, “Those willing to use the e-portal were given a period of two weeks for free to test the system. This enabled them to carry out all their transactions without paying any kind of charges.

After the testing period expires, the charges will be implemented as per the number of labor force, which starts from a single employee to 500 employees”.

Al-Mousa urged the users of the e-Portal not to hesitate in reporting through the hotline number 1-890012 or email address eportal@manpower.gov. kw in case they face any difficulties in using the service website.

He also urged business owners to update their contact mobile numbers, which can be done through the authority’s portal, as well as the number of authorized signatories and the “mandoub”.
