‘Indians top list of 13,000 expats deported this year’
Asian woman kills her illegitimate, newborn baby
KUWAIT CITY, June 8: Thirteen thousand expatriates of various nationalities have been administratively deported from Kuwait this year until date, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting deportation administration sources.
The source pointed out the deportees included violators of residence and labor laws, criminals, those who had committed serious traffic violations and misdemeanors or other crimes.
The source explained Indians topped the list of deportees with 23%; Egypt came in second place with 20%, Philippines third with 17%, Ethiopians fourth with 15%, Sri Lanka fifth with 7% and Bangladeshis sixth with 6%.
The sources noted the six nationalities made the bulk of the deportees at 88 percent and of other nationalities 12 percent.
Baby killed:
An Asian woman has been arrested for killing her newborn baby immediately after delivering the baby inside a flat in Salmiya area, says Al-Seyassah.
According to security sources, a Jordanian expatriate informed securitymen that his housemaid delivered a baby inside his flat. He revealed that the woman caused a fatal injury to the baby in his neck, which resulted in his death. He said the father of the baby is unknown.
Securitymen rushed to the location and referred the corpse of the baby to the Forensics Department. ‘Kidnap attempted’:
A Kuwaiti citizen accused a man in his 20s of threatening and kidnapping his 13-year old son following a traffic accident in Umm Al-Haiman area, says Al-Seyassah.
According to security sources, the citizen explained to securitymen of Umm Al-Haiman Police Station about the incident, stressing that the
suspect threatened his son and insisted the latter repaired his car.
He revealed that his son took his car without his knowledge.
Securitymen launched investigations to find and arrest the suspect.
Protest for salary:
Securitymen Thursday dispersed a crowd of 50 laborers who were seen demonstrating on Abdali Road at Kilo 43 to protest the nonpayment of their delayed salaries which their employer
had promised Al-Seyassah.
According to a security source, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received the report about the workers’ strike along Abdali Road, a security team was immediately dispatched to the location.
The workers explained to securitymen that they have not been paid salaries for months despite repeated promises by the company. The securitymen dispersed the protesting workers.
