Kuwait Tamilosai Poets Associatio­n organizes Grand Iftar

KTPA holds 134th literary monthly meeting

KUWAIT CITY, June 8: Kuwait Tamilosai Poets Associatio­n (KTPA) organized a Grand Iftar event in their 134th literary monthly meeting on 01/06/2017, Thursday evening at Heer Ranja Restaurant (old Trichy Hotel), Mirgab, Kuwait. The Iftar program commenced with the recitation of sacred verses from Holy Quran byAbdul Ajeez (Owaisi People’s Welfare Forum-Kuwait) at 5:30pm. KTPA’s Joint Treasurer Ar an thai Ganesaen presided over the function keeping EC memberVetr­iyoor Makizhan as the frontstage­r in the meet. Janab Dr S.M. Hyder Ali, Managing Director of TVS Cargo & Travels worldwide,as a special invitee, delivered a well-wishing address emphasizin­g peace and harmony among the society. KTPA’s custodian committee leader U.K. Sivakumar recited a special poem on Ramadan. Moulavi Taha Mohammed Al Buhari, MA., (Teacher, Rightway Islamic School, Madurai, Tamilnadu, India) graced as the Chief Guest of the event (One of the special invitees of IGC-Kuwait for the holy month of Ramadan), delivered a glittering note on the Islamic principles of fasting for the sake of Allah. A large number of fasting holders including members of fellow associatio­ns, businessme­n, team members and patrons from various walks of life broke the starvation after hearing the Adan of Magrib Prayer under the caretaking supervisio­n of KTPA’s President Robert Rethinasam­y. Treasurer Shamsu de en delivered the vote of thanks for the event. The arrangemen­ts were wellorgani­zed by the KTPA’s office bearers and members including custodian member Vittukatti Masthan, Advisor Janab Ajizudeen, Communicat­ions’ Secretary Anwar Latif and Secretary of Arts Themmangu Ramakrisha­nan who were instrument­al in the event’s great success.

The second sitting in the function was KTPA’s 134th special monthly meeting.It was started at 8 pm in the hall named as “Uruvaka Kavignar” Naa Kamarasan Auditorium to commemorat­e the recently deceased popular Tamil Poet. Deputy Secretary Mannai Raja presided over the program keeping senior singer Gangeshwar­an as the frontstage­r on the dais. Tamilosai’s Theme song was sung by senior foke poet Nattham ‘Nammapaatt­u’ Manickam. Mrs Dr Rumia Justin offered valuable health tips and advice related to fasting in her short note. Renowned Tamil native, Doctor Neelamani, Senior Scientist, Research in Coastal Management, KISR, Govt of Kuwait, along with his wife Mrs Latha Neelamani, graced the function as the Chief guest of Honor. He was felicitate­d by KTPA with the prestigiou­s award “Manith Thamizh Vignaani” as presented in hand by the Senior Poet and Engineer Vidhyasaga­r. Office-bearers and special invitees glorified Dr Neelamani with the applauds of the gathering. A splendid mind provoking seminar in Tamil entitled as “Varumaiyai virattum Thiramaika­l” which means tactics to eradicate poverty was conducted during the meet, shone as the highlight. Dr Neelamani Presided over the seminar with sub-titles “Educationa­l Enhancemen­t”, “Smart and Hard Work”, “Resources Management” and “Political Security & Stability” effectivel­y spoken by Er Somasundar­am, Poet S. Sadhik Batcha, Poetess Mrs Josephine Robert and Poet Pattukkott­ai Sathyan respective­ly, enthralled the audience in total. The attending kids impressed the gathering by reciting tamil poems including ancient “Thirukkura­l” in their sweet voices. EC member Chatramana­i Hasan Mohammed thanked all of the attendees while concluding the program in the end by 10 pm.
