Asian expat run over, dies in mishap

KUWAIT CITY, June 15: An Asian expatriate died when he was run over by a Japanese-made vehicle on the Sixth Ring Road.

When the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received informatio­n about the accident, securityme­n and paramedics were dispatched to scene of the accident to find the corpse of the victim in a pool of his blood. The corpse was referred to the Forensics Department.

The driver of the vehicle told securityme­n he was surprised when the expatriate suddenly crossed the road in front of his vehicle, and he was unable to stop the vehicle on time due to which he ran over the victim.

Legal measures have been taken against the driver.

Man found dead:

The corpse of a 1958-born Sri Lankan expatriate was found in Sulaibiya farming area.

According to a security source, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received informatio­n about a disoriente­d Asian expatriate in the area, securityme­n rushed to the location to discover the man had died.

His corpse has been referred to the forensics department for autopsy to determine the cause of the death. However, a natural-death case has been filed.

‘Royal’ swindled:

A member from the ruling family has filed a complaint with the Fintas Police Station accusing an Egyptian of betrayal of trust, reports Al-Rai daily.

In his complaint, the Sheikh said the Egyptian rented 1,000 car jacks a year ago and neither returned them nor paid the money.

The Egyptian shall be summoned for interrogat­ion.
