KUWAIT CITY, July 2: Director of Engineering Training and Alumni Center at the College of Engineering and Petroleum Dr Bader Al-Buseiri declared that the 32nd Engineering Design Exhibition will be held for two days — Monday, July 3 and Tuesday, July 4 — under the patronage of Minister of Commerce and Industry and Acting Minister for Youth Affairs Khaled Al-Roudhan, and under the supervision of the center.
According to a press release, the event will take place at Al-Baraka Hall of Crowne Plaza Hotel in Farwaniya. It is sponsored by Kuwait Foundation for Advancement of Science (KFAS).
The main objective of the exhibition is to encourage students to present and document their academic achieve- ments, and appreciate their efforts and hard work in acquiring knowledge, which is the fruit of their many-years of studies in the university.
The exhibition also aims at introducing the community, college’s students and new high school graduates, who are looking forward to enter the college, to the projects and accomplishments of the graduates of the College of Engineering and Petroleum.
The two-day exhibition will start on Monday at exactly 10:30 am. It will be attended by the patron of the events, sponsors and officials from the university, stockholders, parents and visitors from both private and public sectors. It will continue until 10 pm. On Tuesday, the exhibition will be held from 9 am to 12 pm and then from 4 pm to 10 pm.
Dr Al-Buseiri praised the role played by KFAS in supporting events that focus on youth’s activities and highlight their creativity as well as promote young engineers by enhancing their abilities in the field of engineering design. He stressed that this will serve as a strong motivation for further accomplishments by the youths.
He explained that the engineering design is a module which teaches students about the principles of engineering design and helps them in interpreting in reality the science of engineering they learned. The module is characterized by group work and productive spirit among students, and it also highlights skills in research, presentation and explanation of information to the public.
