Al-Mirqab project to be 1st actual financial center: Jabri

KUWAIT CITY, July 2: National Assembly Inspector MP Nayef Al-Mirdas has warned the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Development and Planning Hind Al-Sabeeh will face political accountability if she fails to respond to his questions concerning violations related to the case of Kuwait Aviation Services CO (KASCO), reports AlQabas daily.

In an interview with the daily, MP Al-Mirdas pointed out that at least three Cabinet members have become a burden on the Cabinet, and they need to conduct ministerial changes.

MP Al-Mirdas mentioned the opposition MPs are not the kind of MPs who follow the principle of “give and take” with the government, and those who want to bring down the Cabinet should grill the ministers instead of targeting the head of the Cabinet.

He affirmed the parliamentary opposition bloc will return stronger in the next session with 20 MPs, adding recent news about the bloc distancing itself from MPs Muhammad Al-Mateer and Shueib Al-Muweiziri is not true.

Al-Mirdas explained the style of dialogue the opposition MPs adopted has been fruitful in the restoration of citizenships, and he vehemently denied the prime minister is fortified from any accountability measures.

Meanwhile, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, and State Minister for Municipal Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri affirmed that the Al-Mirqab project will be the first actual financial center in the country, reports Aljarida daily.

In a press statement, he indicated that the structural design is ready, revealing about an ongoing coordination with the concerned state bodies for accomplishing this project.

Al-Jabri said Kuwait Municipality recently handed over this project to the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW).

He revealed that a joint committee has been formed between PAHW, Kuwait Municipality and Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) in order to float the project for international consultant offices.

Regarding the latest developments on commercial license for mobile wagons and tow trucks after the temporary suspension of it, the minister said, “Discussions are ongoing with the parliamentarians concerning the issuance of such licenses in order to give more opportunities for the youths of this country.”

Reportedly, the size of the AlMirqab project is 470,000 square meters. It is aimed to have housing units of size 400 square meters each.
