‘Reshuffle soon to cover manpower needs’

KUWAIT CITY, July 3: The Interior Ministry is currently putting the final touches to its new organizati­onal structure including the endorsemen­t of a list of personnel and officers who will be transferre­d to cover the manpower needs in the entire security sector, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources.

Sources confirmed Undersecre­tary Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Dosari is keen on studying all related files prior to taking a decision, especially on the transfer of staff to fill vacancies in various department­s and provide for security needs. This is in addition to the selection of competent officers who will supervise the work, taking into considerat­ion the current circumstan­ces and rapid changes which necessitat­e awareness and caution, sources said.

Sources explained Al-Dosari has opted to delay taking a decision on the transfer of staff for further study to ensure that no official position is left vacant or to prevent manpower shortage, particular­ly in the field sectors. They also praised the undersecre­tary for always following up security and administra­tive works in a bid to handle issues efficientl­y and quickly.

Sources added Al-Dosari conducted inspection tours during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday to guarantee the smooth flow of work in different sectors and to activate the role of security officers in protecting the country.

Drug peddler

Personnel from the General Department for Drug Control have arrested a bedoun for traffickin­g in drugs and possessing an unlicensed revolver, reports Al-Rai daily.

The arrest came after police received a tip-off from an a police agent following which the police raided the man’s livestock pen in Kabd and seized from him four kilos of shabu and 15,000 Captagon pills.

During interrogat­ion the bedoun admitted to smuggling the drugs into the country with the help of a truck driver whom he failed to identify.

During interrogat­ion the man admitted to smuggling six kilos of shabu and that he had already sold two kilos.

He has been handed over to the General Department for Drugs Control.
