South Saad Al-Abdullah City project worth KD 1.2b: PAHW
Cabinet okays proposal to shift location of Ministries Complex
KUWAIT CITY, July 23: Reports from Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) have disclosed that the contract for implementation of South Saad Al-Abdullah City project is worth a total of KD 1.2 billion, and the construction work of the project is expected to start in 2019, reports Al Nahar daily.
The reports indicated that the project will be executed based on “smart city” specifications and will include a very high degree of safety through installation of a large number of surveillance cameras. The city will be environmental-friendly and will rely on solar energy in the operation of traffic lights and majority of government buildings.
It will contain about 25,000 to 40,000 plots such that each plot will be of an area of 400 square meters. The project will be executed by an alliance of 11 companies.
The reports also highlighted that the contract includes intelligent applications of infrastructure, as well as planning and engineering design services in addition to energy system and economic feasibility analysis of the new city.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet has approved the proposal submitted by Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) to shift the location of Ministries Complex in West Oyoun area in Jahra Governorate to a new location within the governmental zone in South Mutla Residential City, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources.
They said the proposal will ensure establishment of small buildings within the Ministries Complexes in all six governorates and comprehensive employment of national labors.
