IHRS opens door for Eid donations

‘Sacrificia­l sheep project’

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 24: Islamic Heritage Revival Society (IHRS) has opened the door of donation for Eid sacrificia­l sheep project outside Kuwait.

In a statement, the society said it usually embarks on the project each year covering about 40 countries worldwide, including Tanzania and Uganda where the average price of sheep is KD 15.

Others include Congo and Malawi KD 20; Kenya, Somalia, Ghana, Ethiopia and Sudan KD 25; Guinea Conakry, Guinea Bissau and Niger KD 30; Gambia, Djibouti, Mauritania, Sudan, South Sudan, Yemen, and Kyrgyzstan KD 35, and KD 40 in Senegal.

The cost of sheep in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Albania is about KD50 and KD 55 in Indonesia, KD 60 in Morocco, KD 65 in India, KD 70 in Malaysia, KD 80 in Iraq, and KD85 in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and Palestinia­n refugee camps in Lebanon; Gaza in Palestine is KD 110, while the West Bank and Al-Quds is KD 140.

On the average prices of cow to be paid by donors, it will be KD 90 in Ethiopia and South Sudan, KD 95 in India, KD 140 in Sudan, KD 150 in Cambodia, KD 200 in the Philippine­s and Vietnam, KD 220 in Malaysia, KD 245 in Thailand, KD 250 in Kyrgyzstan, and KD 385 at the Palestinia­n refugee camps in Lebanon, while KD 440 will be spent for a cow in Indonesia, KD 450 in Albania, KD 770 in Gaza, and KD 945 in Al-Quds and West Bank.

The price of sponsoring a camel in Sudan is KD 200.

Statement added donors could pay for the value of one or more cows and camel, which is seven times the price of sheep.
