Qatar Amir, Abbas discuss ME:
Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani discussed Palestinian state of affairs with President Mahmoud Abbas on Friday.
The two sides, in a phone conversation, addressed international efforts aimed at finding a permanent, just, and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian crisis, Qatari news agency (QNA) reported.
They also discussed Qatari aid to the Palestinian people, particularly reconstruction projects in the Gaza Strip, and exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common interest. (KUNA)
Kuwaiti FM calls counterpart:
First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah Friday contacted Turkish Foreign Minister Mevl?<t Cavusoglu.

Kuwaiti patients’ wellbeing vital:
The wellbeing of Kuwaitis seeking treatment in the US State of Texas, devastated by Hurricane Harvey, is highly important; therefore, a task team was formed to follow up on their situation, said a minister Saturday.
In a press release, Minister of Health Dr. Jamal Al-Harbi said that the team, affiliated with the Kuwaiti health bureau in Washington, was given further instructions to provide all the necessary assistance to Kuwaiti patients and their company.

MPW signs deal for design:
Minister of Public Works Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa has signed a contract for the study, design and preparation of the contractual documents related to supervision of the execution and maintenance of drainage systems in northern, southern and western areas of Kuwait, reports Al-Anba daily.
The contract, which is worth KD 2.7 million, will be of two phases - the first phase is for 24 months including compulsory and optional phases. The second phase will be for supervision of the execution and maintenance activities for a period of five years and 27 months.
The contract works include a detailed analysis of the volume of rainfall in Kuwait, update on the rainfall intensity curves, update on the water drainage plans of Ministry of Public Works, identifying the water accumulating areas in Kuwait based on contour maps, and detailed studies of rainwater drainage systems in the areas covered by the contract agreement particularly the residential and industrial areas for the next 50 years.
