Arab FMs back Kuwait’s steps against Abdali cell
‘Rebuilding Iraq’ move lauded

CAIRO, Sept 13, (KUNA): Arab League council of foreign ministers affirmed Tuesday their support to all measures taken by the State of Kuwait regarding the terrorist “Al-Abdali cell”, and reasserted rejection to Iranian interference.
In a final communique at the 148th session, the council hailed Kuwait’s efforts along with GCC countries through also their attempt to create channels for dialogue with Iran to bolster security and stability in the region.
The council condemned Iranian interference in Arab internal affairs and considered it a violation of International law, including the principle of good neighborliness and states sovereignty, stressing importance of cooperation between Arab countries and Iran based on good neighborliness and refrain from the use or threat of force.
The Council called on Iran to end acts of provocation that would undermine confidence building and threaten security and stability in the region.
The council renewed also its condemnation of the attacks on the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Tehran and its consulate in Mashhad, and to hold Iran responsible for these acts, and demanded Tehran to abide by the international conventions and treaties in this regard, especially the 1963 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
The council condemned statements made by Iranian officials against Arab countries, urging the Iranian government to stop intimidating statements and acts of provocation and to stop media campaigns against the Arab countries as a blatant interference in the internal affairs of these countries.
The council called on Iran to stop policies that would feed sectarianism and sectarian conflicts and refrain from supporting groups that fuel these conflicts in the Arab Gulf states, calling on the Iranian government to stop supporting and funding militias and armed parties in the Arab countries.
The Council condemned Iran’s continuing occupation of the three islands of Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb and Abu Moussa, stressing its support for all peaceful measures taken by the UAE to restore its sovereignty over its occupied islands in accordance with international law.
The council condemned as well Iranian intervention in the Syrian crisis and the serious repercussions it would have on Syria’s future, security, sovereignty, stability, national unity and territorial integrity, stressing that such intervention would not serve the efforts exerted to end the crisis peacefully.
The Arab Foreign Ministers also welcomed State of Kuwait’s hosting of an international conference to rebuild areas in Iraqi that were liberated from terrorists.
His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah called Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Al-Abadi following the liberation of Mosul, and offered to host the international conference, which Kuwait said might be held during the first quarter next year.
The foreign ministers meanwhile called on importance of supporting Arab governments, namely Iraq’s, to cope with growing needs of displaced persons.

They called for rebuilding the liberated areas in Iraq and to involve the private sector until the return of the displaced to their homes.
They proposed an Arab Leaguesponsored international conference to discuss the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) inside the Arab countries.
They approved a plan to support the IDPs in Arab countries to improve their living conditions.
The Arab foreign ministers have assigned Arab League Secretary General Ahmad Abul Gheit to form a ministerial panel to rally international opposition to Israel’s bid to nominate for the UN Security Council (UNSC) non-permanent seat for the 2019-20 term.
At the conclusion of their 148 regular meeting at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, the foreign ministers also urged the UNSC to put in place all UN resolutions related to the Palestinian cause.
They denounced the recent Israeli legislations to undermine chances for just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East as well as the Israeli illegal actions to extend its grip over the occupied East Jerusalem.
They encouraged world countries, UNSC permanent members to recognize the independent Palestinian state to safeguard the two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
They reiterated support to the Arab peace initiative of 2002 to achieve comprehensive peace with Israel in return for the liberation of occupied Arab land.
They called for intensifying efforts to rally international support to the Palestinian indelible right of selfdetermination and independent state.
They stressed the need for pressing Israel to release all Palestinian prisoners and find a solution to the ordeal of Palestinian refugees.
The ministers urged the UNSC members to approve a full membership of the State of Palestine in the United Nations.
