Minister visits injured student:

Sarah Nayef Al-Mutairi, a student of Sarah Al-Tawhid Intermedia­te School in Saad Al-Abdullah area affiliated to Jahra Educationa­l Zone sustained injuries throughout her body and a fractured spine when she fell from the second floor of the school building, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to medical sources, she is in need of an urgent surgery.

Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohammed Al-Fares visited Sarah at Jahra Hospital, and called on Minister of Health and Director of Jahra Hospital to check on her condition.

Dr Al-Fares expressed grief over the injuries sustained by the student as a result of the fall, stressing his keenness to check on her and provide all heath facilities required for her treatment. He said this concern stems from his responsibi­lity as the Minister of Education.

After reassuring her health condition, the minister disclosed that Sarah sustained several fractures particular­ly on her legs and spine. He wished her a speedy recovery.

Reportedly, Sarah fell because the wall on the second floor of the school building is very low.

Dr Al-Fares instructed the director of Jahra Educationa­l Zone to check on the wall and its height, and to ensure necessary measures are taken to address this matter.

He affirmed his concern for the safety of all students.
