Bid to register children born to Kuwaiti mothers for ‘jobs’

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 30: Government is putting the final touch to the ‘replacemen­t policy’, which entails training of the national personnel to become skilled enough within one year to replace expatriate­s receiving salaries of KD 2000 and above in various public sector institutio­ns, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The daily quoting a source added a segment of the upcoming Cabinet meeting will be allotted for the discussion of the replacemen­t plan and mode of execution.

Meanwhile, the government is expected to make the issue of Kuwaiti football suspension a top priority in its next meeting, indicating the government will support amendment to relevant laws in an attempt to end the internatio­nal ban.

Meanwhile, the Undersecre­tary of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and head of the Employment Committee, Mohammed Al-Roumi, Tuesday, will set a date when the children born to Kuwaiti mothers can register at the CSC for employment in ministries and government institutio­ns agencies, reports AlAnba daily.

The sources indicated the condition for registrati­on for siblings of all nationalit­ies and bedoun is that the mother should be Kuwaiti.

The date for registrati­on of those who are graduates and holders of diplomas has already been decided upon and for those who hold other certificat­es including high school shall be decided during the committee meeting.

The source revealed the criteria for employment will be almost the same which now applies to Kuwaitis.
