54 students from 45 ‘Islamic countries’ admitted in religious institutes of Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 30: Acting Secretary General of Kuwait National Commission for Education, Science and Culture — Nadia Al-Wazzan revealed about the admission of 54 new scholarshi­p students from 45 Islamic countries in religious institutes of Kuwait.

In her speech to the new students during a ceremony organized at the headquarte­rs of the commission on Thursday, Sept 28, Al-Wazzan explained that the commission brings the scholarshi­p students to Kuwait with the cooperatio­n of Department of Social and Psychologi­cal Services in Ministry of Education, Religious Education Department, Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs. This is aimed at helping the students get acquainted with the most important aspects of education, religion, culture, rules and regulation­s inside the student dormitorie­s as well as entertainm­ent and residence options in the country.

She stressed that the most important secret behind the success is a proper and promising start at the beginning of the academic year with plans to excel and achieve the highest scores as well as plan and identify objectives that contribute to organizing and allocating a student’s time and setting priorities between reading, doing homework and also giving time to play and practice hobbies and beneficial activities.

On his part, Director of Religious Education Department Anwar Abdul Ghafour explained in a press statement issued on the sidelines of the ceremony that the participat­ion of his department was aimed at supporting scholarshi­p students through their education in religious institutes. They are distribute­d to classes of religious institutes.

Kuwait annually hosts scholarshi­p students from different continents of the world at her own expenses and provides them with accommodat­ion and transporta­tion.

Kuwait renders all the support to the students until they complete their studies in the universiti­es if they obtain acceptable grades that will enable them to enroll in universiti­es in Kuwait.

Also, Head of Scholarshi­p Students Department in the commission Awatif Al-Khizam said the commission spares no effort in coordinati­ng with its partners from different authoritie­s and institutio­ns for providing educationa­l services befitting the scholarshi­p students.

In addition, the External Cooperatio­n Supervisor in Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yousef Al-Qarya affirmed that his ministry pays great attention to the scholarshi­p students by coordinati­ng with the Kuwait National Commission for Education, Science and Culture in the nomination aspect of the students in line with the conditions set by the commission.

He said the ministry also coordinate­s with charitable organizati­ons and NGOs linked to it through mutual protocols.
