British Academy of Sport opens courses for Term 1
The British Academy, BAS (British Academy of Sport), which is well known in Kuwait with 2,000 registered to be physically active, to be strong and to play sports together, has opened its new season of courses which will run for 10 weeks until December at the BSK Campus in Salwa.
At BAS there is something for everyone and at any time as the only Academy in Kuwait which offers courses in 10 Sports including swimming, basketball, roller skating, tennis, football, kick boxing, gymnastics, karate, zumba and badminton.
All the activities are available for children from all private and public schools in Kuwait from 3 to 16 years of age and they can choose to come once or twice per week.
Apart from courses, BAS will organise this year two international Sports Trip: One in October to Ireland and one in February to Singapore where the students will learn how important it is to be independent and to have self-confidence when they are away from the family and how to be disciplined during the sports and leisure activities in a new environment.
During the trips the children will practice activities such as canadian canoeing, rock climbing, archery, laser combat zip wire, aero ball, 3D Maze and visits to a leading stadium and sports centers.
Also BAS will organize this year the traditional International Tournaments between the Embassies as follows: in November the men’s basketball tournament and in February the men’s and women’s volleyball tournaments. All the embassies in Kuwait will be invited to register their teams which will represent their countries.
Another important event for BAS this year will be the participation of the swimming team at the biggest Swimming Competition in Dubai which will take place in April and will be followed by the BAS Gala Awards evening and the BAS Swimming Gala.
