Agreement on establishm­ent of Anderlecht Academy in Kuwait signed

Former Egyptian footballer Ahmed Hassan has signed an agreement on the establishm­ent of Anderlecht Soccer Academy in Kuwait.

Present at the signing ceremony were Al-Nahar Royal General Manager Amr Hendi, member of the Egyptian Football Associatio­n and former footballer Majdi Abdulghani and member of Board of Directors in Presentati­on Company Ibrahim Al-Tahawi.

Due to my good relations with the Belgian team — Anderlecht, I managed to acquire the right to establish a number of football academies in the Middle East and many academies in Egypt.” He affirmed that negotiatio­ns were smooth and everything were arranged with Kuwaiti friends through Al-Talhawi within a short period.

On the other hand, Abdulghani said Kuwait was the first Arabian country to lift the sports ban on Egypt when in 1983, the late Fahd Al-Ahmed invited the Egyptian National Team to play a friendly football match in Kuwait and then the team received a number of similar invitation­s from other Arab countries.

Abdulghani thanked Allah that the Egyptian Football Team managed to join the World Cup 2018 in Russia, hoping the team will reach the 16th round of the internatio­nal competitio­n.

Amr Hendi pointed out the academy’s objective is to teach football and provide players with good education. He revealed that he witnessed a number of negative issues in several football academies in Kuwait, so he decided to establish a new academy where such issues will be avoided.

He added the academy is keen on contractin­g with efficient trainers through the agreement with Salmiya Sports Club.
