A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested in Salmiya area in possession of drugs, a cigarette stuffed with hashish and drugs paraphernalia, says Al-Seyassah.
According to security sources, Hawally securitymen were patrolling Salmiya area when they noticed a person sleeping inside his vehicle. While they were trying to wake him up, they noticed drugs paraphernalia in the vehicle. They checked him and found drugs. He was arrested and referred with the confiscated items to the Drugs Control General Department (DCGD) for necessary legal action.
Meanwhile, Jahra securitymen arrested a youth in his 20s for consuming and possessing drugs in Oyoun area.
According to security sources, the suspect was under narcotic influence at the time of arrest and was in possession of a sachet of methamphetamine and drugs paraphernalia.
He was referred with the confiscated items to DCGD for investigations. Security Media explained that highway patrol officers noticed a vehicle with two occupants being driven in an unsteady manner and ordered the driver to pull over. After discovering that the motorist is a Kuwaiti and his passenger is an Egyptian, officers asked the motorist for his driving license and the registration book of the vehicle. However, the Kuwaiti presented his military ID card.
Realizing that the suspects are in a disoriented state, officers checked the vehicle and found suspicious substances suspected to be drugs. The Kuwaiti suspect tried to run away but the officers prevented him from doing so. He attacked them and resisted arrest strongly but officers managed to control him.
Both suspects were referred with the confiscated substances to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.
