Kuwait and US discuss enhancing cooperation
KUNA chief meets Tunisian envoy, media team
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 12, (KUNA): Kuwait’s National Security Apparatus (NSA) Chairman Sheikh Thamer Ali Al-Sabah discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation with former director of US National Security Agency and commander of US Cyber Command General Keith Alexander.
Sheikh Thamer Al-Ali praised efforts by Kuwait’s bodies in enhancing cyber security and continued coordination between Kuwait and US, NSA’s public relations department said in a press statement on Monday. The two sides also touched upon plans, strategies and developments pertaining to the enhancement of cyber security of Kuwait, it added.
Meanwhile, Director General of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah received at his office Monday Tunisia’s Ambassador to Kuwait Ahmad Bin Al-Sughaier and a Tunisian delegation.
Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij, also Chairman of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) discussed with the Tunisian media delegation, partaking in the Kuwait International Conference for Reconstruction of Iraq (KICRI), ways to enhance media cooperation between Kuwait and Tunisia. During the meeting, both sides discussed efforts made by (FANA) to develop Arab media.
Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij reflected KUNA’s keenness to support all efforts to strengthen cooperation among Arab media institutions.
Tunisian delegation praised the significant role played by KUNA to enhance Arab media cooperation through its commitment to credibility and transparency.
For his part, Tunisian Ambassador Al-Sughaier valued Kuwait’s role in assisting Arab countries and supporting their development efforts.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Director for Financial and Telecommunication sector Abdul Hameed Malak, Deputy Director for Editorial Affairs and Editor-In-Chief Saad Al-Ali, head of Marketing and Public Relation Essam Al-Ruwaih, and head of the Office of KUNA’s Director General Naif Al-Otaibi.
