Shahani, AR Subbaraman and Jagdish Joshi. Executive Committee Members of the Association of Indian Professionals (AIP), Kuwait welcomed HE, the Ambassador of India K. Jeeva Sagar by a recent courtesy visit to his office. Chairman of AIP, Umesh Sharma welcomed HE and extended all possible support to the Embassy as and when required. Sharma apprised HE of the activities AIP undertakes exclusively for the Indian Community in Kuwait and particularly Indian students in Kuwait. Sharma stated that the AIP is a unique organization that functions regardless of the profession, religion, politics and/or region.
General Secretary of AIP, Dr Kamlesh Kumari informed the Ambassador about the criteria of AIP awards and other activities for the benefit of the Indian students in Kuwait. She also elaborated that the AIP initially was an Umbrella organization but later as the number of Indians increased in Kuwait, many other organizations came into being such as Indian Doctor’s Forum, Indian Chartered Accountant, Indian Business Council, Indian Lawyers Association etc. Sagar commended the services rendered by AIP to the Indian Community in Kuwait and suggested that it would be in the interest of the entire Indian Community in Kuwait if the active associations with similar aims and objectives come together and merge. This will provide better opportunity for the Embassy of India to serve the Indian community at large and quick accessibility to the Indian Diaspora. He also suggested to formulate criteria to pick up deserving average students and motivate/encourage them by medals and certificates. AIP members assured HE to do their best on his suggestions.
