Amir orders National-Liberation Day grants to orphans

-

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 19, (KUNA): His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-Sabah ordered on Monday giving financial grants to the orphans at his personal expense.

His Highness the Amir made the initiative toward the orphans on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of Kuwait’s National Day and the 27th anniversary of Liberation Day.

His humanitarian move toward this segment of the society came a day after he ordered payment of debts for imprisoned citizens and expatriates, also on the same occasions.

Meanwhile, Minister of Information Mohammad Al-Jabri on Sunday hailed His Highness the Amir’s Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s initiative to pay debts of imprisoned citizens and expatriates.

A statement Al-Jabri, who heads the national celebrations committee, said that this initiative reflects His Highness kindness.

He added that this generous initiative, that followed many other gestures by His Highness the Amir at all levels, coincided with the 57th anniversary of the national day, and the 27th liberation day.

Al-Jabri wished His Highness the Amir everlasting wellness, and for Kuwait to maintain its position as a humanitarian center, under leadership of His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf AlAhmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

His Highness the Amir ordered earlier today the payment of debts for citizens and expatriates in prison as Kuwait celebrated the national days.

Earlier, the National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim on Sunday praised His Highness the Amir’s initiative to pay debts of imprisoned citizens and expatriates.

His Highness the Amir’s desire to pay debts of these prisoners from his personal funds and enable them to reunite with their families during the national days is the latest in his record

of such good and humanitarian initiatives, the Parliament Speaker said in a statement.

His Highness the Amir’s humanitarian act presents anew an example of how the ruler is aware of citizens and residents’ hardships and preoccupations.

Moreover, he has represented Kuwait as the Humanitarian Center and a home of social and humanitarian solidarity and relieving the underprivileged.

Echoing identical thoughts, Deputy Speaker Issa Al-Kandari said the latest initiative was registered in his record of humanitarian deeds, wishing His Highness lasting wellbeing.
