Pledge to hunt bachelors

Residentia­l homes survey vowed

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 19: Farwaniya Governor Sheikh Faisal Al-Hamoud has affirmed that the governorat­e will leave no stone unturned in fighting the problem of bachelors residing in private residentia­l areas, reports Al-Rai daily.

He stressed that it is not allowed for bachelors to stay in private houses, disclosing about a comprehens­ive survey that will be conducted on private houses that are rented out to bachelors in order to eradicate this phenomenon.

In a press statement, Sheikh Faisal AlHamoud explained that the presence of bachelors in private residentia­l areas has become a problem that is depriving citizens of sleep because of the social and security repercussi­ons. This matter necessitat­es bringing together official and societal efforts and taking measures that will help curb the problem from its roots.

The governorat­e has received lots of complaints in this regard, and it informed Ministry of Interior and Kuwait Municipali­ty to take necessary measures.

The governor called on citizens to be partners in combating the phenomenon of bachelors living in private houses.

He said, “We are looking for a radical solution to this phenomenon. We are seeing a positive response from concerned authoritie­s”.

Sheikh Faisal Al-Hamoud stressed the important role mayors can play in fixing this problem, revealing that he has requested all mayors to conduct a comprehens­ive survey of all the houses rented out to bachelors to eliminate this problem once and for all.

The governor said he held meetings with officials from Public Authority for Civil Informatio­n (PACI) to discuss the proposal of issuing civil IDs to expatriate­s based on the address of their sponsors, adding that labor cities represent the solution to the problem related to the presence of bachelors in private houses.
