KGL wins con­tracts:

Kuwait & Gulf Link Trans­porta­tion Com­pany (KGL) has an­nounced that two of its sub­sidiaries have won sup­ply con­tracts worth $2 bil­lion for the US Army, re­ports Al-Seyas­sah daily.

KGL Trans­port Com­pany, which is one of the sub­sidiaries in which KGL owns 97 per­cent of shares, won the He­fei Lift 8 con­tract re­lated to trans­porta­tion works in GCC coun­tries, Iraq and Jor­dan. This five-year con­tract, which is worth $500 mil­lion (KD 164 mil­lion), starts this month.

The other sub­sidiary com­pany, KGL Food Ser­vices in which KGL holds 99 per­cent of shares, signed a $1.380 bil­lion­worth con­tract with the main sup­plier US Lo­gis­tics Agency. The con­tract is for 60 months which can be ex­tended to an­other 60 months, and it is con­cerned with sup­ply­ing food and lo­gis­ti­cal ser­vices to the US Army in Kuwait, Iraq and Jor­dan.
