KFAED denies report about deal with Egyptian billionaire
‘Asst undersecretaries, directors general’
KUWAIT CITY, April 16: Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) has denied reports about ongoing negotiations with Egyptian billionaire Samih Sawiris for offering non-refundable financial grant worth $30 million to Zewail City of Science and Technology, reports Al-Rai daily.
In response to a parliamentary question submitted to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah in this regard, KFAED affirmed that the information highlighted during a talk show presented by Egyptian TV anchor Amro Adeeb concerning ongoing negotiations with KFAED for offering
the financial grant to an Egyptian private university is false.
It insisted that no pledges have been made to offer non-refundable financial grants to any private universities or institutions owned by individuals.
The Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) in Jahra City would start serving nationals and expats from its new building near the Governorate Headquarters as of Monday. In a statement KUNA Sunday, PACI Director General Musaad Al-Asousi said the new permanent premises would replace the temporary branch in Jahra Cooperative Society, which would be closed. All PACI services would be provided to nationals and expats at the new building, he pointed out. On future plans, Al-Asousi revealed that the PACI sought to build a second integrated branch in Al-Ahmadi Governorate to serve residents of the southern governorate.
