NEW YORK, April 16, (AFP): James Harrison, a two-time Super Bowl champion linebacker with the Pittsburgh Steelers during 15 NFL seasons, announced his retirement on Monday in an Instagram post. Harrison, who turns 40 on May 4, posted photographs of his children with the caption: “I’ve missed way too much for way too long ... and I’m done. Many thanks to my family, coaches, the fans, and everyone who played a role in my football life. #2ndAndFinalRetirement.”
Previously, the Chargers held the right of first refusal on any deal McCain would have reached with another club.
San Francisco 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster, who is facing a domestic-violence charge, will be absent Monday when the team starts its offseason program.
The team announced the news Sunday in a press release, attributed to CEO Jed York, general manager John Lynch and coach Kyle Shanahan, that misspelled Foster’s first name: “Rueben Foster will not participate in team activities as he is tending to his legal matters.

New England tight end Rob Gronkowski will not be in attendance when the Patriots’ offseason program begins Monday, ESPN reported on Sunday.
Gronkowski remains undecided about playing the upcoming season and has had “good communication” with the Patriots, a source told the network.
Gronkowski’s contract reportedly contains a $250,000 workout bonus paid out based on attending a percentage of the voluntary workouts.
Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Daryl Worley was arrested early Sunday morning near team facilities after police found him passed out in a vehicle blocking a highway, according to the NFL Network.
Worley allegedly became combative with police when roused around 6:00 am and was tased before being taken into custody.
The report also says a gun was recovered at the scene. “We are in the process of gathering more information about Daryl Worley’s arrest this morning,” the Eagles said in a statement.
Worley, 23, had two interceptions last season and has three in his twoyear career. He started 25 games in his two seasons with the Panthers, who took him in the third round of the 2016 draft.
