KUWAIT, April 17, (KUNA): Kuwait Public Authority for Youth (PAY) has equipped a bus with various digital and state-of-arts devices, basically turning it into a makeshift scientific and research center freely available for young citizens including those of special needs.

The “bus of innovation” has been made as part of efforts to provide facilities and means for scientifically talented youth, namely those of special challenges, said Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, the authority General Director, speaking at a news conference at Dasman Bilingual School, marking its inauguration.

The bus can be easily boarded by the handicapped who can also use various electronic and innovative tools on board, he said.

Nasser Al-Khaldi, innovation consultant at the authority, said courses are organized on the bus in 3D printing, electronic programming and robots’ making.

Saud Al-Tawash, of Armor Group, who also spoke at the conference, said his company contributed with the special small lift for boarding by the disabled.

The devices and machines on the environmentally friendly bus can operate for 12 hours with “alternative energy,” he said Ahmad Al-Saleh, chief trainer at “Innertech,” the bus operator, said 400 schools had registered to host the bus for training students on the digital appliances.

Director General of the Environment Public Authority Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah disclosed that sewage water treated at temporary plants installed by the Ministry of Public Works close to densely populated areas produces stagnant water within the surroundings of South Sabah Al-Ahmad City, reports Al-Qabas daily.

On a recent visit to the project site, Sheikh Al-Ahmad declared that government authorities represented by the Ministry of Public Works, Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources, and Public Authority for Housing Welfare are making frantic efforts to execute the necessary infrastructure.

He stressed the infrastructure will transport sewage water from the city to the outskirts in an appropriate manner, besides planting of trees to protect the houses from dust and sand.
