KUNA chief expresses gratitude to Jordanian press

KUWAIT CITY, April 22, (KUNA): Chairman of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Director General and President of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah received in his office member of the Independen­t Election Commission (IEC) from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Faisal Al-Shboul on his visit to the country to attend the activities of the Arab Media Forum.

At the meeting, Sheikh AlDuaij congratula­ted Al-Shboul who’s the former Director General of Jordan News Agency (Petra) for his promotion and appointmen­t in the commission, and wished for him the best in his new duties.

Sheikh Al-Duaij also expressed appreciati­on and gratitude to the Jordanian press for the excellent role played throughout the years to enhance cooperatio­n between the two news agencies, KUNA and Petra, in addition to Al-Shboul’s effort to support and facilitate the 45th Assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA), which was held last November in Jordan’s capital, Amman.

KUNA’s chief also received Director General of the Lebanese National News Agency Lor Suleiman who is currently visiting Kuwait for the Arab Media Forum. The officials discussed means of strengthen­ing cordial relations between the two news agencies.

Both meetings were attended by Deputy Director for Administra­tion, Communicat­ion and Finance Affairs Abdul-Hamid Malik, the Deputy Director for Editorial Affairs and Editor inChief Saad Al-Ali, Director of Marketing and Public Relations Department Essam Al-Ruweih, and the Director General’s Office Manager Nayef Al-Otaibi.

Kuwait Psychologi­cal Associatio­n organized an intensive training course titled “Human Developmen­t and Self Improvemen­t” on Wednesday and Thursday, April 18&19 as a part of its 2018/2019 training season activities.

The guest lecturer was the European Region Director of Arabic Institute in France Professor Ali Mehran. The lecturer is a winner of multiple internatio­nal and regional awards, among them the Internatio­nal Environmen­tal Creativity Award in Japan that made him the only Arab recipient to date.

Board Chairperso­n of the associatio­n Asiya Al-Jerri stated the training course constitute­d several aspects related to human developmen­t and using humans as medium and goal of developmen­t. She noted the Japanese experience in the use of human resources to actualize renaissanc­e and sustainabl­e developmen­t served as a model.
