Union slams draft law:

Board Chairman of Lawyers Union Hamad Al-Wardan criticized the draft law submitted by a number of MPs to organize the profession of law, condemning the prejudice shown to the union especially since it represents all lawyers working in governmental bodies and is responsible for defending their rights and interests, reports Al-Anba daily.

He clarified that freedom to work and freedom to choose are principles guaranteed by the Kuwaiti Constitution due to which they cannot be violated, stressing that the draft law violates article No. 43 of the Constitution which stipulates that no one can be forced to join any society or union.
