Embassy of Argentina marks National Day
KUWAIT CITY, May 10: The Embassy of Argentina in Kuwait led by Ambassador Jorge Omar Antonio Biga recently organized a get-together dinner to mark Argentine National Day, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Relations Affairs Ambassador Nasser Al-Sabeeh attended the event alongside members of the diplomatic corps and officials of the Argentine Embassy, members of the Argentine community and wellwishers.
Responding to the press at the sidelines of the event, Ambassador Al-Sabeeh affirmed that Kuwait is keen on maintaining bilateral relations with the Philippines based on strong friendship, mutual trust and cooperation. He emphasized the need for the Philippines Embassy to hand over those who violated the diplomatic norms and Kuwaiti constitution, which was a veiled reference to Filipinos who “smuggled” domestic workers from the houses of their employers.
He assured Kuwaiti government is working hard to detect the whereabouts of Mohammad Al-Baghli who got missing in Romania. He hopes the man will be found and returned to Kuwait or his file may be closed, as the case may be.
Speaking at the event Ambassador Biga reiterated the lofty level of relationship between the two countries, saying the relationship has been sustained ever since his country participated in the liberation of Kuwait in 1991.
He said the two countries signed several agreements during a visit of His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad to Buenos Aires, while other agreements were signed when the Argentine President Cristina Fernandez De Kirchner visited Kuwait in 2011.
