It is very important to support those who are eager to protect peace all around the globe, said Al-Fassam who indicated that the increasing number of peacekeeping casualties in the last five years required a stern stance to end the targeting of such forces.

He affirmed that peacekeeping forces have the difficult task of making sure stability continues in certain countries and regions, adding that this quest is fully supported by the UN General Assembly and UNSC. Al-Fassam stressed that host countries and local security forces must cooperate with peacekeeping troops to ensure the success of peace missions.

In an unrelated development, head of the Central System for Remedying the Status of Illegal Residents (CSRSIR) Salah Al-Fadhalah has called on the Ministry of Social Affairs and Public Authority for Manpower to provide job opportunities for Bedouns in private sector and the cooperative societies based on their legal status, reports AlAnba daily.

The statement came during his meeting with the representatives of Ministry of Social Affairs and Manpower Authority at the headquarters of CSRSIR in Nayef Palace to discuss the recruitment of Bedouns.

Al-Fadhalah said the Central System was established with support from political leadership and the government to grant rights, while offering assistance to the children of Kuwaiti women to attain higher education and ensure their employment in both private and government sectors.

He stressed that 1965 census doesn’t guarantee citizenship although it proves the presence of the participants in the country. “It is wrong to believe that we won’t find radical solution to Bedoun issue soon”, he added.

He also mentioned the files of some 34,000 individuals out of 92,000 were transferred to the higher committee for review. He reaffirmed the era of old security IDs is over leaving no option for those manipulating the situation except to remedy their status or return home. He indicated the agency will extend all facilities to those showing their passports.

Al-Fadhalah also said the State provides free education for Bedouns in government schools equally as citizens, in addition to free medical care in all government hospitals and the health centers. He commended the level of support received from the Charitable Fund to educate Bedouns in private schools, indicating the State bears all costs.
