KUWAIT CITY, May 10: The Criminal Court presided over by Judge Saoud Al-Sane’a acquitted three expatriates who were accused of forging a KD 2 million bond they had issued after tampering with Kuwait Municipality’s automated system.
The Public Prosecution pressed charges against the trio after they had doctored the official documents (bond) which they had issued to a local bank in the same fashion of genuine documents.
The doctored bond was given to a commercial company, which then handed it to a concerned municipal official who verified and detected that it was forged. This resulted in the arrest of the three suspects.
Representing the third suspect was lawyer Yousef Dashti who affirmed that his client was forced by investigation detectives to confess to the allegations, highlighting the maliciousness of the accusations, save for their invalidation and lack of sufficient

Woman not penalized:
The Criminal Court refrained from penalizing a Kuwaiti woman who was accused of forging a transaction to disburse aid from Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, and appropriating KD 49,000 fraudulently as aid that she does not deserve. The aid was earmarked for unmarried women but the defendant was married.
The Public Prosecution had pressed charges against her after she deceived an official of the ministry by presenting a forged official declaration certificate allegedly issued by the Notary Department which testifies that she had never married or divorced, which was contrary to the truth. The defense counsel lawyer Zaid Al-Khabbaz affirmed the lack of incriminating evidences against her client, calling for her acquittal of all charges.
Nationality forgery:
The Criminal Court presided over by Judge Muhammad Jafar has acquitted two Syrians of forging Kuwaiti citizenship.
Earlier, the Public Prosecution charged the duo of forging official documents, birth certificate and citizenship certificate to trick concerned authorities into issuing citizenship cards for them.
