Drug peddler flees police

Bag of drug sachets seized

KUWAIT CITY, May 12: Ahmadi securityme­n are in search for a GCC expatriate in whose vehicle they found sachets of drugs that he was planning to sell.

According to security sources, Ahmadi securityme­n were patrolling Sabahiya area when they noticed a vehicle without number plate and ordered the driver to pull over. However, the latter ignored the police order and continued to drive. After securityme­n requested for backup, they managed to force the man to stop. However, he jumped out of his vehicle and ran off, escaping between houses. Even though securityme­n chased him, they were unable to catch him. They later searched his vehicle and found a bag with a number of sachets of drugs as well as empty sachets.

When they electronic­ally checked his details, they discovered he is a GCC national who is sentenced to imprisonme­nt in a number of cases.

His vehicle was referred to the seizedvehi­cle garage and the confiscate­d drugs were referred to the Drugs Control General Department. Investigat­ions were launched to find and arrest him.
