First mosque on solar energy

KUWAIT CITY, May 13: Engineer Fareed Emadi, Undersecre­tary at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs stated the ministry on Monday will inaugurate the first mosque to use alternativ­e energy in Kuwait, reports AlAnba daily.

Engineer Emadi noted the inaugural ceremony will be held under the auspices of the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr Fahad Al-Afasi.

He said Fatmah Al-Awadhi Mosque located in Khaitan area will rely solely on solar energy, and that all solar boards and water guides that rely on the clean alternativ­e energy have been installed.

He explained the objective of transformi­ng the mosques in Kuwait to alternativ­e energy-based is in line with the state policy to conserve power.
