IC.A.I Kuwait Chapter holds annual general meeting
Kuwait Chapter of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 5, 2018 at The Copthorne Hotel Kuwait. The AGM was well attended by a large number of members. It began with a welcome address by C.A. Kaizar Shakir. Chairperson C.A. Ritu Sharma presented the Chapter’s activities during the year 2017-18.
She ruminated the activities which included family day, cricket tournament — one of the new initiative apart from the regular continuing professional education sessions. This year the chapter organized CPEs on varied conventional and unconventional topics ranging from Indian budget to sportsmanship, leadership and corporate synergy by inviting former Sri Lankan cricket captain Roshan Manama, Cyber Security and Financial Crimes, Robotics, Estate Planning and Blockchain.
C.A. Deepak Bindal, the treasurer of the chapter presented the accounts for the year 2017-2018 which were unanimously approved by the members.
The Executive Committee of the Chapter which was elected last year will remain the same for the year 2018-2019 with C.A. Noel Cherian being appointed as the new chairman and C.A. Sai Devata as the vice-chairman. C.A. Kaizar Shakir and C.A. Deepak Bindal will continue as secretary and treasurer respectively.
The AGM was followed by a talk on ‘Simplifying Health’ Rangmanch se healthy by nutritionist Ms Rama Mehta which was attended by the members along with their spouses. This was followed by a dance drama ‘Sapno ke pair’ by her troupe.
