‘Good relations forever’

Embassy holds ‘Ghabqa’

KUWAIT CITY, June 9: Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of Lebanon in Kuwait Maher Al-Khair affirmed the keenness of his country to enhance the strong relations shared with Kuwait, insisting that these good relations will stay forever.

According to a press release, Al-Khair said the above in response to questions asked by reporters during a press conference held on the sidelines of a Ramadan Ghabqa held in Palm Beach Hotel for the third consecutiv­e year.

The event was held in the presence of a number of Arab and foreign diplomats, outstandin­g figures and clerics as well as a large number of Lebanese expatriate­s in Kuwait.

Al-Khair assured that the embassy is open for all Lebanese nationals living in Kuwait, and that they can consider it as their home.

In response to a question about Kuwait’s decision to impose sanctions on the armed wing of Hezbollah especially since seven other countries took a similar decision, Al-Khair stressed that the relations between Kuwait and Lebanon is strong, and that the present issue is temporary, adding that the final solution will be taken via the regional system.

Concerning the expected visit of the Lebanese Prime Minister Sa’ad AlHariri to Kuwait, he said, “So far, nothing is confirmed”.

He highlighte­d the visits of AlHariri last year and of the Lebanese President Michael Awn to Kuwait, stressing that these visits reflect the strong relations that link both Kuwait and Lebanon.

Since the summer vacations are nearing, Al-Khair addressed all Kuwaiti citizens to affirm that Lebanon is safe, urging them not to be influenced by the media in this regard.

He said the previous summer season was wonderful, affirming that the coming summer will be better.
