German Ambassador says will not forget Ramdan experience

-

KUWAIT CITY, June 9: German Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Carl Fred Bergner says he will never forget his Ramadan experience in Kuwait, reports Al-Rai daily.

He wished for security and peace to prevail in Kuwait, taking the opportunity to congratulate the people of Kuwait on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Ambassador Bergner explained that his day as a diplomat in Kuwait is divided into two parts during the month of Ramadan. The daytime is characterized with less work due to reduced working hours. During the evening, he visits many diwaniyas courtesy of many invitations to Ghabqa banquets that he likes very much.

Affirming that Ramadan in Kuwait is a month of community and family, he said he is impressed by the way Kuwaiti families gather around the dining tables.

The ambassador revealed that his real challenge in Ramadan is to maintain his weight because the best dishes are available in the evening, which makes resisting food very difficult.

He indicated that there are more than 4 million Muslims currently living in Germany, describing them as good neighbors.

The ambassador added, “We know their traditions and customs. We congratulate them in Ramadan, on Eid Al-Fitr and other Islamic holidays, and they also congratulate us during our Christian holidays”.
